WIP: Young Justice Robin (and the Hood)

Wednesday, April 27th, 2011

In line with my recent Young Justice posts, here now is a quick update on what else to add to the paper toy version of the team Roster.  The first one was Aqualad, followed by Squareheadpapercraft’s KidFlash and Superboy.  Red Arrow will be released soon, which will then be followed by these two ( Robin first though, coz the other character isn’t part of Young Justice LOL ).

Does anyone know who the guy on the right is?

The one on the right rocks big time!  I saw him in action in one of DCs direct to DVD movies – I have to say, one of the best animated DC movies I’ve ever seen.  More on that in a future post.

I’m working on a couple of enhancements to the contender template – to make the paper toys closer to their animated  counterparts, that and then some.  You’ll just have to check back to see what I mean.

For now, Cheers!

Crafty Collab Presents: Kid Flash Paper Toy

Friday, April 15th, 2011

This crafty collaboration is with Squarehead paper craft.  From the same people behind blogkertas and the  kameriderart.  Kid Flash is related to the Aqualad paper toy released earlier this week.  The inspiration of course is the Young Justice cartoon series.

"There, just went around the world and back!"

Crafty Collab Presents: Master Kai Lone Wolf Paper Toy

Thursday, April 14th, 2011

I do so love collaborations!

This one is from our good friends at blogkertas. This toy is based on Master Kai Lone Wolf, from the Lone Wolf game book series.  From what I’ve read, it seems that they might release a video game based on the characters in the books.  Something to look forward to.

Master Kail Lone Wolf

I haven’t had the pleasure of playing this specific series of game books, but I was able play the Grail Quest solo fantasy books, Falcon (space age), Avenger (ninja), and the Wizard and Warrior series.  Come to mention it, I think Marvel came out with a bunch of game books as well, D&D too for that matter.  There’s also the classic “Choose Your Own Adventure” series.

Master Kai Lone Wolf, the Paper Toy

I think they should definitely release more of these books for today’s generation.  Something different from the usual video game entertainment that is prevalent these days.

You can download the template from both blogkertas and  here.  Subscribe to this blog to receive the password in the mail and gain access to the downloads section.  Registration is free, just enter your email address in the subscribe field at the right-hand side of the page header.

That’s all for now.  Cheers!

WIP: Red Arrow Paper Toy from Young Justice

Wednesday, April 13th, 2011

Whoeee!  I’ve been so very busy at work the past few weeks.  I was lucky enough to squeeze in some paper toy-related activities despite everything that’s happening.

I’ve always wanted to come up with an archer paper toy.  Seeing the Young Justice characters ( specifically, Red Arrow – even if he’s not an official member of the group ) helped me push that “want” into a reality.  To be honest, it’s still a work in progress right now, but I think it’s coming along quite nicely.

I didn't have the luxury of time to assemble the Red Arrow "body". Luckily, Kratos was nice enough to help test and pose using the bow and arrow. LOL

The image above shows just one of the archer poses.  The other one has the toy aiming in a more forwardish ( if that’s even a word ) direction.  Watch out for the final version soon.

Also, it isn’t really that evident because most of the activities are happening behind the scenes, but I’m very happy about how Crafty Collabs is turning out.  I’m very happy with the collaborations that are happening behind the scenes.  Plenty of enhancements in the works, plus some new templates to boot.  If you’re interested in getting in on the collaborative action, just let me know through this blog’s contact form.

That’s all for now.  Cheers!

Young Justice – Aqualad Paper Toy

Monday, April 11th, 2011

As I’ve mentioned in an earlier post, I’ve been watching a lot of Young Justice lately.  I’m totally digging the character designs and animation style.  I just had to make paper toys based on the characters.

So here he is, Aqualad, ready for download.  Enjoy.

Aqua lad with his Water Whips?..

and his Water Blades.

Whoops!

Thursday, April 7th, 2011

This is embarrassing.  My last 2 posts, not including Caption Tuesdays, was about collaborating – I’ll provide the templates while cool collaborators will create the graphics.  Now here I am posting about a graphic that I’m currently working on.

I couldn’t resist.

Young Justice TAS has got to have the coolest looking Aqualad ever!

I spent hours watching episodes of Young Justice ( the animated series ) recently.   I just had to make paper toys of them.   I’ll go back to our regularly scheduled ” programming ” right after.

As mentioned in the caption above, this is Aqualad from the TV series.  I definitely love what they did with his weapons.  The template I’m preparing will have a pair of “water whips and machetes”.  I’m doing Red Arrow next ( coz I haven’t done an Archer version of the contender yet )  Robin * will come after ( the asterisk is for something cool that will come along with the Robin template LOL ).

That’s it for now.  Cheers!
