That’s right.  I’m looking for talented artists to collaborate with.

I had a recent epiphany.  I found out that I enjoy designing paper toy templates more than creating graphics for the templates – not that I don’t like doing it, I just have a preference, that’s all. ( Then again,  I may just be moody ).  I find the activity to be very much like a puzzle.  Specifically, figuring out how to create the shape that I have in my head while keeping the template simple to assemble so that anyone can build it.

Yeah, this is how I do it. Looks discorganized but it actually isn't to me ;)

I also discovered that I enjoy seeing what other people do with the templates that I designed ( a true heart-fluttering experience, I have to say ).  Lastly, I’ve found that I enjoy interacting with creative people – giving them a new format to work with that results in something tangible.

For those of you who have been visiting this blog the past few weeks, you’d know that I’ve been releasing a number of blank templates and I intend to release more, in various shapes and sizes.

What I’d like, is for anyone interested, to choose any of the blank templates in the downloads section and slap a graphic on it.  The graphic can be of any character of your choice.  If the template needs to be revised or enhanced to fit your character (helmet, weapon, etc,..) I’ll edit it for you – within reason of course.

For artists, the idea is to give them an easier time in creating a paper toy by providing the template.  They don’t have to worry about figuring out the folds and cuts.  They just need to focus on the art, and that’s that.  For yours truly, I get to work on more templates ( Whoopee! ).  For enthusiasts, well you get more toys to ” play ” with,  more selections and in different genres too.  I think it’s a Win-Win-Win, don’t you agree?

And just to be organized, I’ve prepared some guidelines to follow.  Go here to check it out after you’re done reading this post ;)

Note that this doesn’t mean I’m going to stop releasing paper toys.  It only means I’m sharing the templates.

If you have any questions,  just go over to the comments section and write about it.

Last but not the least, for those very cool people who have already come up with a bunch of customs using the PTA templates. Many, many, MANY thanks.

That’s all for now.  Cheers!
