When Captain America throws his mighty shield,
all those who chose to oppose his shield must yield.
If he’s led to a fight and a duel is due,
then the red and white and the blue’ll come through.
When Captain America throws his mighty shield.
For those of you who aren’t old enough to know what betamax cartidges are (Look it up, QUICK!), Mighty Marvel Comics released a number of cartoons based on their popular comic book titles a long, long, long, long, looong time ago. Captain America was one of the comic titles that had a series. The other 3 titles were Thor, Hulk, and the Fantastic Four (If memory serves that is – someone correct me PLEASE!). For all you mutie fans out there, sorry, the X-Men weren’t around yet – either that or Professor X’ band of atomic childeren were just starting out.
For those of you who are wondering, the first few lines of this post are the lyrics to the cartoon’s theme song.
Flash forward 4 to 5 decades later and we get to see the “First Avenger” in all his glory on the big screen (the second time around – look that up too). Not only can you watch him beat up the bad guys in the cinema, you can also have your own star-spangled hero on your very own desktop! Available for free, for all your Red Skull-bashing needs!

Cool, I think it came out a couple of weeks ago in the Philippines. I’m watching it this weekend. Seems there are a lot of paper toy peeps in the Land Down Under. I’ve always wanted to check it out. Any other Aussies in the group? I’m considering to fly over some time to visit. Maybe we can all meet up or something. Cheers!
