I guess its best to release “Hawk” and “Widow” at the same time. Speaking of which, have you guys seen the Avengers movie yet, and did you enjoy it much? I know I did. I liked how they made the good guys duke it out in some of the segments. I also liked how they injected a number of funny scenes – (SPOILER ALERT) Hulk’s “Loki-throwdown” was simply the BEST! Tom Hiddleston’s face, post-throwdown, was hilarious.
Enough of that – less movie, more toys!
I used a modified version of my Red Arrow paper toy template. Not much of a difference, I just switched their “handedness”. For information on how to “assemble” the arms so that the toy holds the bow and arrow properly, go here.

Jeremy Renner, a.k.a. Clint Barton, a.k.a. Jason Bourne, a.k.a new Mission Impossible guy... this guy is taking over all the big movie trilogies!!!
As for the Black Widow, I actually tried designing a new template – a female version of the “Contender”. The intent was to give her “bumpers”, but I eventually decided to just stick their graphic version. My earlier prototypes were getting to be a bit complicated to assemble, so I thought of just keeping it simple. I did include a hair addon though – many thanks to Carl Zeno Manalo for creating the lines and texture for that.
You can download the template here. Subscribe to this blog to receive the password in the mail and gain access to the downloads section. Registration is free, just enter your email address in the subscribe field at the right-hand side of the page header.
Okay, so far we have:
- Thor
- Captain America
- IronMan
- Hawkeye
- Black Widow
That means the BIG guy is next!
Cheers!

Nice job mate; though you can still add “bumpers” while keeping it simple. Add another plain attached below the face. 2 panels and a tab. Valley fold under the face, mountain fold between the panels and mountain fold the tab under to attach to the body (glue or slit). Open from the sides, but good effect from the front or angle.

I would love to know, will the Hulk be out by this weekend? I would love to have the set done before I go see the movie on Sunday! (It comes out in the US tonight!)

Hi Ben,
Thanks for your message.
I should be able to finish the template today, but I have to take care of other stuff first. I’m actually just using the BRUTE template for Hulk. Just need to find the time to create the big guy’s texture.
Unfortunately, if I do finish the template today, I wont have time to assemble him or make a post about it.
So, if you want the template earlier than everyone else, just send me a message through the contact form on the right so I’ll know which email to send you the template.
I make no more promises, but I’ll do my best.
Cheers!

Hi Kuaeh,
Thanks for your email. I use cardboard stock, sometimes with gloss, sometimes without. Where I come from, we call C2S (gloss) or Matte paper (matte). The thickness sometimes goes from 100 to 120 gsm (32 lbs).
I hope this helps.

Oh, and for images of Hawkeye’s back, I’ll take pictures later this week and upload them next week in this same post. I can’t do that right now since the toys are at home and I won’t be home in the next few days.
Cheers!

Black Widow: This is like Budapest all over again. Hawkeye: You remember Budapest very differently.

Sounds about right, I was looking for the lines online, but I couldn’t find it. Thanks for the correction. I’ve updated the caption. Cheers!
