The Catwoman Rises

Wednesday, August 1st, 2012

Whoooweee!

What a bunch of busy weeks I’ve been having.

This post should have been up since last week, I am sooo backlogged.

Oh well, them’s the breaks.

Moving on…

Catwoman, is now available for download.  It’s unfortunate that the printout didn’t come out as well as I’d like.  The black totally ate up all the detail in the texture of the suit.  Tsk!  Anyway, similar to Bane and Batman, this template has a removable mask too.

Cat gear on...

Cat gear off!

Lastly, I’ve included a quick tutorial on how to put it together, check it out below.

Step 1: Cut

Step 2: Fold, glue those ear thingies

Step 2: Glue the two pieces together

The template can be downloaded here.  You’ll find her in the DC Universe section.  Subscribe to this blog to receive the password in the mail and gain access to the downloads section.  Registration is free, just enter your email address in the subscribe field at the right-hand side of the page header.

That’s it for now.

The Dark Knight Rises

Monday, July 23rd, 2012

Have you seen the movie yet?

I have, and I think it was a fitting ending to the trilogy.

I love how all the three movies were strung together, and that twist in the end was way cool!

Kudos to everyone involved in the movie.

I now present my version of the Dark Knight.  I know there are already a lot of different versions floating around in cyber space, but I do hope you enjoy this one regardless.  This paper toy comes with a removable cowl, cape, and a couple of batarangs that fit nicely in this caped crusader’s hands.  I don’t have a lot of time these days, so don’t expect a lot of detail in this one 😉

The Dark Knight has risen.

Batarangs, very dangerous weapons.

The Dark Knight unmasked.

The template can be downloaded here.  You’ll find him in the DC Universe section along with Bane and the Cat Woman (coming soon).  Subscribe to this blog to receive the password in the mail and gain access to the downloads section.  Registration is free, just enter your email address in the subscribe field at the right-hand side of the page header.

If you need any help in putting this paper toy together, just go to the Assembly Instructions page.  You’ll find plenty of quick links to step-by-step tutorials on how to assemble the toys released from this blog.

That’s it for now.

Keep on Rising 😉

Cheers!

“Dark” Bane Rises

Wednesday, July 18th, 2012

Hello folks!

Bane, this time around, based on the upcoming Dark Knight Rises movie.  For those of you who just joined us, this is Bane’s second appearance in a feature post on this blog.  He showed up here for the first time as the first-ever texture (or was it the 2nd?) using the Brute template.  Go here to view that Bat-back-breaking post.

RAWR! Do I look like the Predator to you or what?

Yes, I steal helmets, FEAR ME!

OMG! I look like Professor X!!!

The Villains Gallery Part 7B: Red Skull

Tuesday, July 10th, 2012

Moving on to the next member of our very first Villains Gallery series, I bring you the Red Skull!  In all his scarlet splendor.

Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to design a German military officer’s hat.  I’ll probably get to that later on, I’ve meaning to come up with a bunch of contender-compatible headgear anyway.  So for now, you have to contend with the figure and a pair of guns (which I should have replaced with a Luger LOL – Ugh! so many things to do, so little time ).

I WANT YOU!

I'm back! Tell Captain America.

If you need any help in putting this paper toy together, just go to the Assembly Instructions page.  You’ll find plenty of quick links to step-by-step tutorials no how to assemble the toys released from this blog.

The Villains Gallery Part 6B: Doctor Doom

Monday, July 2nd, 2012

Doctor Victor Von Doom is now available for download.  I wonder what he specializes in as a doctor, hmmm…  Any ideas from the audience?

Anyway, this guys is the latest bad guy to join the latest Villains Gallery series.

"Pssst, yes you, can you keep a secret?"

"To be, or not to be..."

Okay, so far, we have:

Saturday, June 30th, 2012

Yessiree!

Updated Captain America, Iron Man, and Spider-Man paper toys are now available for download.  The textures of these toys reflect the current designs of the character’s costumes in the more recent movies where they appeared in.

Many thanks go out to Fred Edward, the dude responsible for the Squarehead Paper Craft blog, a source for a number of cool Crafty Collabs.

The Villains Gallery Part 4B: Loki

Monday, June 18th, 2012

Loki, God of mischief, lies, and all things not nice is now available for download.

A whole lot of thanks go out to Fred Edward for sending over this Crafty Collab to complete the Avengers characters.  He also updated the staff in the template – the one I included in the post last week shows his staff from the Thor movie.  You’ll find his new staff from the Avengers movie in the final version, you know the one that can turn good guys into bad ones.

Go check out more of Fred’s designs at Squarehead Papercraft.

Alright! I'm finally out, let's do some bad stuff!

Insert witty caption here!

Just a reminder for those of you who may not have read yesterday’s post – the Assembly Instructions page is now up and running.  There you’ll find quick links to step-by-step tutorials on how to assemble the toys released from this blog.  You’ll find a tutorial for Loki’s cape in there too.

Nick Fury from The Avengers Movie

Monday, May 21st, 2012

I am mighty glad a bunch of you asked for Fury.  This guy turned out to be cooler than what I was expecting.  I actually wrote him off the to do list, thinking he was going to end up as just one of the many characters with a weapons cache.  He did (now he’s my fave character with a weapons cache LOL), but if you add the trench coat to the mix, along with Mr Samuel L. Jackson’s attitude playing the role, it just works well, in a whole lot of different levels.

Say hello to my little friend 😉

To attach the coat, do it like how I did Red Hood’s jacket.  Note that you’ll have to roll up the edges of  the trench coat, similar to how I did Thor’s hair for that “flowing coat” effect, yes the sides and the back – tweezers are the perfect tool for this.   The arms are best connected to the coat, not the body.  You’ll need to snip off a bit from the section of the arm that you insert through the slits – you’ll know what I’m talking about when you get to that point.

I've got my eye on you...

As for the weapons cache, it includes the “standard issue” pistol, rifle, and stinger (from Solid Snake) that you normally see here at PTA.  I was too lazy to design a rocket launcher that looked similar to what Fury used in the movie, so I just borrowed Snake’s stinger template – worked like a charm.  Saved me tons of time too.

Sir, I'm gonna have to ask you to exit the donut!

Come back tomorrow for Caption Tuesdays!

In case you missed the earlier posts for each of the characters, look no further, the links are right here:

I’m also announcing the return of Caption Tuesdays!  You can blame my taking lots of caption-able images while taking pictures of the Avengers team.  Watch out for it next week.

Cheers!

The HULK Paper Toy

Tuesday, May 8th, 2012

This one has got to be the fastest custom that I’ve ever completed.  I just recolored the Kratos Brute template with green and purple, then borrowed some graphic elements from Bruce Lee and Wolverine, and Voila!

Say CHEESE!

So which Banner do you prefer - Bana's, Norton's, or Ruffalo's?

Anyway, the big green guy is now available in the downloads section. We now have all the Avengers from the movie, excluding the Nick Fury that is.  Now if only we had a bunch of bad guys for them to beat up, hmmm…

You can download the template here.  Subscribe to this blog to receive the password in the mail and gain access to the downloads section.  Registration is free, just enter your email address in the subscribe field at the right-hand side of the page header.

That’s it for now.
Cheers!
