Heihachi Paper Toy – The Making of a King Part 3

The King of Iron Fist Tournament

The King of Iron Fist Tournament

Heihachi – the King of Iron Fist Tournament, ready for download for a local, imaginary, paper toy, Tekken tournament near you.

I’ve mentioned in part 2 of this series that I added some detail to the graphic of this paper toy. Nothing fancy really, just some minor embellishments here and there.  You wont see them in the pictures that I posted, but they’ll be in the downloadable template. I am referring to those artsy details inside the red orange circles in the pic below 😉

I also included simple instructions on how to insert the different limbs. But if you prefer to not make use of the option to change his arms/pose every so often, just glue your favorite arm/pose to the appropriate location in the body, and you’re done. No big deal.

The Making of a King – Part 2

September 29th, 2010

This is part 2 of the making of a King. This post continues my experiment – designing a more poseable papertoy by using detachable limbs.

In part 1, I invited everyone to guess who the next papertoy from PTA was going to be based on. For those of you who guessed Aragorn from Lord of the Rings, you’re absolutely wrong. If Simba was your pick, you’re incorrect as well, but for those who guessed Heihachi (for me, he’s the King of Iron Fist Tournament from Tekken – a lot of you would probably disagree though HAHAHA), then you definitely guessed right. (Yes, I know, my writing is waaaaaaaaay off more than usual today XD).

I found out that adding detachable limbs was not too difficult, Check out the pics below.

The Making of a King – Part 1

September 22nd, 2010

It’s king-making time! Just wanted to share what I’ve been working on the past few days . Does anyone of you want to venture a guess on who the king might be?

Peekaboo! Guess Who.

Peekaboo! Guess Who.

I’m using my new favorite template again on this one, hopefully with some cool modifications when I’m done. The past few paper toys I released had some pose limitations, just like most of the paper toys out there I guess – meaning you cut, fold, paste, and you’re basically done. I want to see if it’s possible to have the option to come up with different poses by allowing the paper crafter (you and me) to switch “body parts” every now and then – makes things a bit more interesting. Ha!

Let’s see what happens. Check back in a few days to see how it goes.

Cheers for now!

It’s the Bat!

August 25th, 2010

Yep, I’ve been watching episodes of this series recently.  Couldn’t resist making a paper toy of the main character.  I just created a template with pointy ears, you think I should go make the most of it and come up with other pointy-eared characters – Wolverine anyone?  Uhmm… Heihachi maybe?  LOL

Quick update: Papermon, Facebook, Client work!

June 16th, 2010

Hi All,

Just a quick update.  It looks like we’re borrowing some game play mechanics from the Papermon game I’m creating for a Facebook game application that we’re developing at work. Watch out for both Papermon and the Facebook app soon.

Also, for everyone out there with a Facebook account – I’d appreciate it a lot if you can check out a game for me, (http://apps.facebook.com/skirmishmissions/). Please do share with me your thoughts on what you think works or what doesn’t work for the game. Please do share with me your ideas on what you think will make it better.  Tell your friends and family about it, we’re very open to suggestions.

Lastly, I’ve been busy working on my first Papertoy-related commission – one of the reasons why I haven’t been posting. The paper toy is part of a promotional campaign that is going to launch soon. I cant tell you a lot about it just yet, but as soon as I can, I will.

Cheers for now!
