Hats off to all of you who cast their votes.

The order of the “coated” has been decided and this is how it looks like:

  • Gambit
  • Dante
  • Grifter

Looks like Gambit got the thumbs up for the number 1 spot.  Enjoy!

Pick a card, any card...

For those with a keen eye, this is how to make him hold the cards ūüėČ

The Trench Coats are Coming! – Last Call

July 13th, 2013

Alrighty then.

Before I finalize the release schedule of the toys, I want to do one final call for votes to decide which character template I should finish off first in order to release. ¬†If you just tuned in and don’t know what I’m talking about, go here.

Last call for votes! What say you?

Let’s check out how the votes are coming along so far:

  • Dante with ¬†15 votes
  • Gambit with 13 votes
  • Grifter with 6 votes
Votes were sourced from the comments section of the previous page as well as the through the contact form.  Looks like Dante is leading the pack and Mr. Remy Lebeau is a close second.  Poor Cole Cash is running a distant third.  Oh well.  I actually thought Gambit would be on top.  Go figure.
If any of you want to change the order of release, please sound off on the comments section below or the contact form to the right. ¬†I’ll be releasing the character with the most votes early next week.
Also, it seems I left a few more series releases hanging. ¬†Just like the trench coats. ¬†I would like to hear from the audience ( Ahem! That means YOU ), which one’s you’d like me to prioritize.
The list looks like this:
I’ll likely hold off on this Spider-Men series until the next Spider-Man movie comes out. ¬†It seems more appropriate that way. ¬†If I remember correctly, a couple of Spidey’s bad boys are in the Villains Gallery anyway, so those dudes should be enough to whet the concerned appetites in the meantime. ¬†UNLESS y’all want me to get those toys out sooner.
You have the power!!!
That’s it for now.
Cheers!

Crafty Collab: Beware of the Kaiju Paper Toys Part 8 ‚Äď Gigan

July 10th, 2013

ALL YOUR PLANETS ARE BELONG TO US!

Just like last week, I’m putting you all in the right mood for the “Pacific Rim” movie. ¬†Don’t get me wrong, they’re not paying me to post about the movie, it’s just that eversince I saw that Charles “Barkely VS Godzilla” commercial a while back (aaand I just “dated” myself right there), I’ve always looked forward to the possibility of a movie like PR LOL.

Don’t bother looking for it on youtube, I already looked it up for you – see below…

But enough of that… I’ll let Shaun tell you all about Gigan…

” ¬†Gigan; the original robot chicken. But don’t let that pun fool you. Gigan (the showa version anyway) has definitely given Godzilla a run for his yen from time to time. Between flying around without wings, sawing things with a built-in rotary cutter at his alien masters’ commands, and squealing his little cyborg squeal, Gigan has become a favorite kaiju baddie of kaiju fans everywhere.

And now you can enjoy your own little paper Gigan complete with his own functioning rotary cutter! You probably won’t be able to saw buildings with it but there are probably a few papercraft buildings you could download somewhere. You might be able to make a few tears if you use enough paper for his saw. ¬†“

Man this Kaiju paper toy really rocks!  Go check out that gif animation that Shaun prepared further down.

RARR!

Say CHEESE!

I SAW what I SAW, that's all I can say about it...

Check out. this cool gif animation from Shaun Breedlove

As always, many thanks to Shaun for sharing with us another one of his creations.

The Trench Coats are Coming!

July 4th, 2013

So I’ve been going through my paper toy files from a while back and was immediately reminded of the many toy projects that I left hanging due to my hiatus (shame on me). ¬†One of those projects was the Trench Coat series – simply put, a series of paper toys that feature characters wearing (GASP!) trench coats.

The Trench Coats are Coming Very Soon...

As you can see, the first batch includes Grifter, Dante, and Gambit.  That said, as I get back into the swing of things and eventually release these bad boys for all of you to download and enjoy, I would like to know in what order you want them to be released Рthis is because although I am back for the time being, I still have a lot of stuff on my plate regardless.  I still need to clean up the templates and would like to know which one to prioritize for release.

Which one should I release first?

  • Grifter with trench coat and guns
  • Dante with trench coat, guns, and sword
  • Gambit wit trench coat, quarter staff, and cards

The release dates for these can vary by weeks or months, so if you really want a character to be released sooner than later, now is the time to vote and be heard. ¬†PM me through the contact box on the right or just sound off in the comments section below. ¬†Obviously, the character with the most votes gets released first ūüėČ

That’s it for now, Cheers!

Crafty Collab: Beware of the Kaiju Paper Toys Part 7 ‚Äď Baragon

July 2nd, 2013

WUSSUP  PEOPLE!

It seems I haven’t been able to post an article on the site the past few months. ¬†I’ve been busy with a lot of stuff – it happens, oh well (SHRUGS). ¬†Anyway, I’m back for the time being, so let’s get back into the swing of things – moving on to some serious paper toy business.

In anticipation of “Pacific Rim”, a movie that involves Kaiju and gigantic Mecha. ¬†I’d like to open with a Kaiju post, to start of a series of posts since my hiatus. ¬†The best way to do that is to show off another one of ¬†Shaun Breedlove’s creations.

But first, let’s have a look at that “Pacific Rim” trailer ūüėČ

And now, I present Baragon:

Kaiju Baragon Paper Toy Pic 2

Kaiju Baragon Paper Toy Pic 3

Pretty cool what Shaun did with that photo montage of his (Pic 1).  For the scales, Shaun says he designed it so that you have the option to either paste on individual plates on Baragons back for a more 3D effect (Pic 3), or just stick with the 2D version with the scales already drawn on the base template.

For more information about this Kaiju, go here.

That’s it for now.

September 19th, 2012

Hey Guys!

Just sharing with you all what else is in the works behind the scenes.

Take note, these “articles of clothing” are all removable ūüėČ ¬†You can fit them on any of the previously released paper toys (as long as it uses the contender template of course) then transfer them to another as needed.

Why don't we shake on that...

Mechanical arms, never leave home without 'em!

This wonderful Crafty Collab¬†was created by none other than Rayenyson. ¬† He skillfully took up the challenge of designing Doc Oc’s mechanical arms. ¬†This guy has major skills pulling off this one – my hat goes off to him!

Paper Toy Tutorials

September 11th, 2012

POP QUIZ!

Would you appreciate step-by-step tutorials on the following topics?

  1. How to design paper toy templates
  2. How to customize existing paper toy templates using specific software applications
  3. What software to use when designing or customizing paper toys

Paper Toy Template Customization Tutorials

The reason I ask is because I have been meaning to make them for some time now, and more importantly, some of you have requested for them at some point. ¬†I just haven’t found the time to do them just yet, but if a lot of you would find those tuts useful, then I’d really consider doing them sooner than later.

One more thing, if I do release those tuts, which applications would you prefer featured in them?

  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Adobe Illustrator
  • Blender3D (Open-source)
  • Gimp¬†¬†(Open-source)
  • Inkscape¬†(Open-source)
  • Pepakura

For apps NOT in the list above, you’ll have to look elsewhere as I am not familiar with any of those.

Let me know.  Just sound off in the comments section.

Cheers!

Crafty Collab: Beware of the Kaiju Paper Toys Part 6 ‚Äď Mothra

September 10th, 2012

Following a Kaiju reboot from last week and a series from a while back, today I present to you the latest from¬†Shaun Breedlove, otherwise known as PTA’s King of Kaiju.

This time around, he brings us Mothra, complete with larvae and moth versions.  As before, Shaun provided some notes on this paper toy:

” ¬†Here’s to one of the only kaiju who’s been a good guy, err, girl, throughout her entire movie career. Everybody, hold on to your antennae… it’s Mothra! Sure, she may seem like just a big bug but she’s much MUCH more. She’s a big, magic, benevolent bug who loves the earth and all it’s people….. Yeah, I think only Toho co. ltd. could think that one up too. But just the same, that doesn’t mean she shouldn’t be on your shelf! She’ll also look very good on top of your printer as I’ve found out myself. So download your very own mothra today! She’s, yes I’m gonna say it, Moth-Tastic!!! ¬†”
