Crafty Collab: Nightwing Paper Toy

Monday, November 18th, 2013

We’ve got another Crafty Collab for y’all!  It’s another one from Rayenyson – the same dude who gave us the Superman,Iron Spider, and Doc Oc paper toys, just to name a few.  As before, to see more of his stuff, go over to his site here.

Nightwing needs no introduction.  This guy is big fan favorite, myself included.  The costume for this paper toy is based on the Young Justice cartoon, which I think is the best-looking one so far.

Without further ado, here he is 😉

Caption of the Week no.44

Thursday, August 9th, 2012

Today, we have number 44 of our weekly caption challenge.

Previously known as “Caption Tuesdays!” – why the change?  I’ve got my reasons, but it’s mainly due to time and my lack of it.

Anyway, here goes:

I actually posted this image on Instagram a few weeks ago, along with comic bubbles and all that.  I thought it would be great for you guys to have a go at it.  Seems like a fun image to caption.

Anyway, let this be an official invite to everyone out there to follow me on IG!  I’m going to post a bunch of behind the scenes stuff over there,  just in case you guys want to see what I’ve been working on – some might not even make it over here 😉

That’s it for now.

The Catwoman Rises

Wednesday, August 1st, 2012

Whoooweee!

What a bunch of busy weeks I’ve been having.

This post should have been up since last week, I am sooo backlogged.

Oh well, them’s the breaks.

Moving on…

Catwoman, is now available for download.  It’s unfortunate that the printout didn’t come out as well as I’d like.  The black totally ate up all the detail in the texture of the suit.  Tsk!  Anyway, similar to Bane and Batman, this template has a removable mask too.

Cat gear on...

Cat gear off!

Lastly, I’ve included a quick tutorial on how to put it together, check it out below.

Step 1: Cut

Step 2: Fold, glue those ear thingies

Step 2: Glue the two pieces together

The template can be downloaded here.  You’ll find her in the DC Universe section.  Subscribe to this blog to receive the password in the mail and gain access to the downloads section.  Registration is free, just enter your email address in the subscribe field at the right-hand side of the page header.

The Dark Knight Rises

Monday, July 23rd, 2012

Have you seen the movie yet?

I have, and I think it was a fitting ending to the trilogy.

I love how all the three movies were strung together, and that twist in the end was way cool!

Kudos to everyone involved in the movie.

I now present my version of the Dark Knight.  I know there are already a lot of different versions floating around in cyber space, but I do hope you enjoy this one regardless.  This paper toy comes with a removable cowl, cape, and a couple of batarangs that fit nicely in this caped crusader’s hands.  I don’t have a lot of time these days, so don’t expect a lot of detail in this one 😉

The Dark Knight has risen.

Batarangs, very dangerous weapons.

The Dark Knight unmasked.

The template can be downloaded here.  You’ll find him in the DC Universe section along with Bane and the Cat Woman (coming soon).  Subscribe to this blog to receive the password in the mail and gain access to the downloads section.  Registration is free, just enter your email address in the subscribe field at the right-hand side of the page header.

If you need any help in putting this paper toy together, just go to the Assembly Instructions page.  You’ll find plenty of quick links to step-by-step tutorials on how to assemble the toys released from this blog.

That’s it for now.

Keep on Rising 😉

Cheers!

Paper Toy Inspiration: Green “Arrow”, The TV Series!

Wednesday, June 13th, 2012

I’m sure you’ve seen this trailer floating around in cyber space.  I thought I’d share it here anyway, just in case.

From the trailer, the show seems promising.  Nothing against the fans, but I think “Arrow” is going to be much better than “Smallville”, just my view of course 😉  This is probably because Green Arrow is one of my favorite characters in the DC universe LOL.

And yes, I’m definitely releasing a Green Arrow paper toy in the future, I’ve always been a fan.  I loved the OVAs where he’s  featured in (Even his alternate version – the one where he sports a red hood instead of a green one).  I just need to decide on which costume to go with.  That said, as always, regarding the costume, please do give me  suggestions.

One thing’s for sure, I’m definitely going to make one with a hood, and not with the robin hood type hat. LOL.

Cheers!

The Villains Gallery Part 3: The Joker Is Coming!

Friday, June 8th, 2012

Don’t tell me we didn’t warn you!  Batman’s bestest, best friend is coming very soon to a desktop near you.

Many, many thanks to Austin Bilingsley for sending his custom collab over.  It comes with a couple of nice “toys” for Joker to play around with.

“Let’s put a smile on that face!”

The template will be available for download next week.  Come back soon.

Cheers!

The Villains Gallery Part 1

Friday, May 18th, 2012

Hi All!

I’ve been receiving requests for paper toys based on villains lately.  I think it’s about time I did so, since most of the toys I release are heroes, except maybe for Silver Samurai  and Bane.  I’m thinking of releasing a series of maybe 8 or 10 of the meanest, baddest, bad guys ever.  These guys should be veritable icons in their own right, beyond the usual bully or street thug.  That, plus they should be cool too.

That said, I’d like to know if any of you have any suggestions on which villains should be included in the list.  I’d appreciate it if you can send me links to references to the characters as well, just so I’m sure we’re talking about the same character 😉  Note that the list can accommodate characters from different universes, by universes, I mean comic book publishers, games, movies, etc,…

Chillin' like a Villain! IMAGE CREDIT: Disney / Fanpop

I’ve started with a list (in progress) below, I can still include or omit characters from it, depending on your comments.

  1. Loki – from Marvel’s “Avengers” movie
  2. Red Skull – from Marvel’s  “The First Avenger” movie
  3. The Joker – Heath Ledger’s of course!
  4. Doctor Doom?
  5. Darth Vader?

If you have any suggestions, do sound off in the comments section, or PM me through the contact thingy on the right.  And in case any of you say Thanos, I’d suggest to save him for when the Avengers 2 movie comes out 😉

Cheers!
