Coming Soon: Legend of Korra’s Amon

Friday, May 25th, 2012

Amon, from Nickelodeon’s “Legend of Korra” series, is coming soon.

I’m luvin’ the series so far, more than the Aang series, I totally recommend watching it.

One of the cooler villains I've seen in a while.

This guy is cool in sooo many levels.  Even a chibi version of him looks so ominous.  Anyway, come back soon, I should be done with the template in a few days.

Crafty Collab: Separated at Birth?

Friday, July 1st, 2011

To me, they sort of have similar attitudes, abilities, and masks – Okay fine, Deadpool has an advantageous healing factor plus I think he’s  more of a motor mouth than Red is, so there.  But still, don’t you think the resemblance is uncanny? LOL

DeadHood or RedPool? To be or not to be...

"So, what do you think of that actor from the Green Lantern movie?"

This Crafty Collab was brought to you by our dear friends at Square Head Papercraft.  They released Deadpool a while back, but I was only able to post about it just now.  Deadpool comes with a wide array of murder and mayhem.  You’ll have to supply the “motormouth-ness”.

In case you just joined us now, I released a Red Hood paper toy a few weeks ago.  Feel free to check it out here.

The template is available for download from both the Square Head site and here.  Subscribe to this blog to receive the password in the mail and gain access to the downloads section.  Registration is free, just enter your email address in the subscribe field at the right-hand side of the page header.

That’s all for now.

Riddle Me This…

Wednesday, June 1st, 2011

Who wears a red mask, is an expert fighter, uses guns and sharp objects, talks a lot, but isn’t Deadpool?

Red Hood, the paper toy, is now available for download.  This one comes with his trademark knife and twin pistols of death.  This baby also comes with a jacket ( yet another PTA first! WooHoo!!! ).   It’s also compatible with the recently released bike.

Fear me! You know you want to.

As mentioned in an earlier post.  I’ve been watching a lot of DC OVAs recently.  So far, my favorite from their catalog of quality animation is ” Batman: Under the Red Hood “.  I highly recommend you to check it out if you haven’t yet.

Alright, enough of that, now let’s proceed to some assembly tips.  Specifically, assembly tips for the jacket.  As always, pre-fold and pre-cut as needed.  Then insert the arms where you usually place them on the template.

Prep it like this.

Insert the arms.

After the arms, attach the jacket onto the toy figure just like you would a normal jacket in real life – one arm after the other.  Yes, the arms go through the slits on the figure too.  The “collar” goes around the neck to help keep the jacket in place – it works similar to the cape used on Thor and Robin.

That’s it.

Hi Brucey... remember me?

You can download the template here.  Subscribe to this blog to receive the password in the mail and gain access to the downloads section.  Registration is free, just enter your email address in the subscribe field at the right-hand side of the page header.

Look Ma! No hands!!!

That’s all for now.

WIP: Young Justice Robin (and the Hood)

Wednesday, April 27th, 2011

In line with my recent Young Justice posts, here now is a quick update on what else to add to the paper toy version of the team Roster.  The first one was Aqualad, followed by Squareheadpapercraft’s KidFlash and Superboy.  Red Arrow will be released soon, which will then be followed by these two ( Robin first though, coz the other character isn’t part of Young Justice LOL ).

Does anyone know who the guy on the right is?

The one on the right rocks big time!  I saw him in action in one of DCs direct to DVD movies – I have to say, one of the best animated DC movies I’ve ever seen.  More on that in a future post.

I’m working on a couple of enhancements to the contender template – to make the paper toys closer to their animated  counterparts, that and then some.  You’ll just have to check back to see what I mean.

For now, Cheers!

WIP: Assassin’s Creed Paper Toy Part 2 – How to Assemble the Hood

Wednesday, March 9th, 2011

Just a quick update on the Assassin’s Creed paper toy that I’ve been working on.

I’ve finally decided on a ” folding pattern ” for the hood.  I designed a couple of studies previously and finally settled on one of them.  I think what I ended up with is consistent with how the base contender template is designed – it’s sorta hard to explain, so let’s just leave it at that.

The template is not ready for download just yet, I am still making a few modifications.  It should be available in a few days, so check back soon.

For now, let me just show you a quick step-by-step guide on how to fold the hood ( and the face ).  Just refer back to this post once the template is out.

Step 1: Prefold, prefold, prefold.

Step 2: Assemble the body. Position the parts of the front section similar to how it was done in the image.

Step 3: Glue the left and right edges at the back.

Step 4: Glue the sides of the face on both sides ( internal ) of the hood. Use the crease to help you position the face section.

Stop 5: Apply glue on the tabs of the hood sections ( sides ). Insert and glue them into the side folds of the hood's center section.

It’s quite challenging to write assembly instructions.  Hopefully these images help show the process.

That’s it for now.  Check back soon for the finished template.
