That’s right.

ActionCraft Toy Box is officially funded.

Thanks to everyone who supported our Kickstarter campaign. We couldn’t have done it without you. You guys truly, truly rock our world.

Running a Kickstarter campaign can be a very hectic and stressful experience. I am just glad it was successful – no effort lost. Now begins the fun part, actually completing the project. So, watch out for updates.

Last Day! Back Us On Kickstarter Today!

Sunday, August 2nd, 2015

Ladies and Gents,

Just a quick update on the ActionCraft Toy Box Kickstarter campaign. At the time of this writing, we’ve raised just under 95% of the funding goal. This means we just need that remaining 5% to make sure we have the funds to finish the development of the app.

By the time you read this, it will likely be the last day of the campaign, which means it will also be the last day (for all of you who haven’t done so) to back the campaign through a pledge.

Click here to get to the Kickstarter page:

The success of this project is in your hands. Let’s make this happen 😉

Cheers!

The Final Countdown…

Saturday, July 25th, 2015

Hellooooo!!!!

This is it folks, we’re at the last 10 days of the Kickstarter campaign to support the development of the ultra-cool, mega-crafty, app called ActionCraft Toy Box. Well, at the time of this writing, we have 10 days left, but by the time you receive this article, it would be the last 9 days.

In case you’ve been hiding under a rock the past few weeks and have no idea what I’m talking about, go here to catch up. And if you want more information about the Kickstarter campaing, go here!

At the time of this writing, we’ve already raised just over 75% of our funding goal. This means we still need to raise the remaining 25% of the $10k that we set as our funding goal in order to make this app a reality. As a reminder, It’s an all-or-nothing setup with Kickstarter. If we don’t reach or go beyond our funding goal before August 4, nothing happens. So if you really want this app in your hands, this is the time to rally and invite your friends and loved ones to support the campaign.

Too young to know who this guy is? Look up Captain Planet 😉

Let’s do this!

A Gentle Reminder from Yours Truly…

Wednesday, July 15th, 2015

Hello,

As you know, we have a live Kickstarter campaign running at the momet. We organized the campaign to help us fund the completion of ActionCraft Toy Box, the app that lets you customize your own paper toy action figure.

At the time of this writing, we just passed the 30% mark of our US$10,000 funding goal. We have 20 more days to go before the campaign ends. As a reminder, Kickstarter is an all-or-nothing deal. It’s either we reach 100% of our funding goal or we don’t.

If you’ve enjoyed the toy designs that we’ve freely given away through this blog the past few years, or if you like the app we’re building, or if you’re just that generous, do consider supporting the campaign by pledging to fund our project.

For more information about the project, check out these links:

Come on guys, this is me telling you that we can’t do this without you. We need your support to get to 100 and beyond. Let’s make this happen!

Happy 4th of July People! PLUS an update…

Saturday, July 4th, 2015

I spent a lot of time with friends and soon-to-be family in the US for the most part of June, and I wanted to wish all of them and all of you celebrating your independence this July 4 a very, very good one. I had a blast during my stay over there, thanks for hanging out with me.

The Avengers, assembling for Independence Day!

Also, since I’ve settled in a bit from the trip, I can finally share an update re the Kickstater launch party we ran last June 20. It was a great way to kickoff our fundraising campaign for our ActionCraft Toy Box application. If you have no clue about what I’m talking about, (shame of you) go here.

Anyway, the launch was a success. I was not expecting that much of a turnout at all.

Serious crafting in progress...

Silent, but steady...

It was fun and I’m looking forward to running more of these in the future.

That said, to all of you who appreciate our paper toys, I encourage you to support our Kickstarter project. Go here now and back us!

What are you waiting for?

ActionCraft Toy Box, The Kickstarter Launch Party!

Wednesday, June 17th, 2015

Before I forget, we’re having a launch party on the day the ActionCraft Toy Box Kickstarter Campaign goes live. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, go here for more info about the project, and here to know more about the new features we want to add to complete the app through Kickstarter.

Oh, and since you’re already jumping from page to page, might as well like our Facebook page here. Think of it as exercise 😉 Come on, skip to it!

Yes, it's time to party - paper toy style!

The launch will be held at the Adult Recreation Center located at 201 E Colorado St in Glendale on June 20, from 3 to 5pm. If you’re good at using Google Maps (I know I’m not), go here for directions.

Yes, it's called the Adult Recreation Center - stop laughing! The place is cool BTW.

If you’re in the area, do drop by. The event will be great for the kids. We’re going to have story telling, a paper toy workshop, and IF you ask nicely, we’ll let you try the latest prototype of ActionCraft Toy Box.

The prototype in action! That's the on/off button for viewing props in the editor!!!

If you’re interested to back us on Kickstarter, we can walk you through the process at the venue.

If you have decided that you’re going to back us because you like what we’re doing (and because you’re a good and loving person) it would be best to do so on the day of the launch itself – if we reach over 30% of our funding goal on the first day, it increases our chances of being prominently featured on Kickstarter, which increases our chances of reaching our target!

Last but not least, there will be PIZZA! The official food of #actioncrafters all over the world!

I apologize to all the artists in the audience for using Comic Sans XD

Seriously though, it’s a fun and creative way to spend 2 hours of your time with the kids, nephews, nieces, friends, and BFFs! Don’t forget to RSVP, we have limited slots!

See you there!

Cheers!

ActionCraft Toy Box, The Kickstarter Campaign!

Monday, June 15th, 2015

Hey guys!

I just wanted to share a more information about what we’re doing with ActionCraft Toy Box. If you didn’t catch my previous post about it, no worries, go here then come back right after.

As mentioned previously, the current version of the app allows you to do these:

  • Choose from a number of themed models, so far we have 6 i.e. Knight, Sorceress, Soldier, Tech Girl, and 2 general model)
  • Customize your chosen model with pre-made textures and graphics
  • Email the final design to yourself to print later or you can print wirelessly

Meet 2 of our original characters, soon to star in their own paper toy story book!

We want to add a couple more features to make the app even better:
  • DRAWING TOOLS that will allow you to design your own textures/graphics
  • The GLOBAL PAPER TOY GALLERY where you can upload and share your designs with others

Mockup of the Global Paper Toy Gallery Screen

So far, I’ve self-funded the app, but as you all know, developing an app like this needs a lot of effort and resources. Which is why I’m reaching out to all of you for support – since you’ll likely  be using the app anyway, why not help me finish it, right?

Let's Kickstart this baby!

I’m going to run a KICKSTARTER Campaign this June. It’s going to start this June 20 and end early August of this year. Kickstarter is a crowd funding site that helps people like me develop something like ActionCraft Toy Box for you with your help. You can find out more about Kickstarter here.

I’m running the campaign to add the features I described above, plus depending on how much support you can provide, a few other cool things I think you’ll definitely like.

For almost half a decade now, I’ve shared a lot of free paper toys through this blog. Those same toys were downloaded from around the world, showcased in galleries, featured in craft workshops and classes, as well as re-posted or shared through different websites and blogs.

I like to think that anyone who has downloaded any of my designs had as much fun with them as much as I’ve had fun making them. I set out to build this app so that you yourself can experience even more fun creating and sharing your own designs with others. That, as well as make it easy for you to make your own paper toy action figures to play with your friends and family or just for display.

Sound good so far? If so, COOL!

This project is VERY IMPORTANT to me – I hope it’s something that you can appreciate enough to support. Tell all your cool craft y friends and relatives about the ActionCraft Toy Box Kickstarter campaign. Ask them to support it. Every bit of help we can get for this project will really help us finish the app as well as give you a very cool tool to use and create with. Just imagine the many creative things you can do with it.

I’ll tell you more about the ActionCraft Toy Box Kickstarter Campaign in the next few days – like one of the great things about Kickstarter – THE REWARDS!

In the meantime, if you have any suggestions for the app itself, let me know – maybe we can still squeeze them in.

That’s it for now.

Cheers!
