The Hulkbuster Paper Toy In Progress

Tuesday, April 28th, 2015

Hello there!

I just wanted to share an update. This is what I have so far – the toy shape is based on the BRUTE template, but with some minor modifications. The prototype in the image is still missing the arms – I didn’t like the result when I was experimenting with said modifications so I had to go back to the drawing board.

The Hulkbuster paper toy in progress.

The final version should be ready in a few days. Check back again later this week.

What are you waiting for? You know you want to ūüėČ

Lastly, in case any of you guys want day-to-day updates on the goings on over here, grab your phones and follow the papertoyadventures instagram account. I post a bunch of updates there that normally don’t find their way in here.

That’s it for now.

Share if you care!

Cheers!

The Rumors of My … Ummm – Have Been Greatly Exaggerated!

Wednesday, April 1st, 2015

OH MY!

It’s been more than a year since my last post – What happened?

A number of things actually, which I’ll expound on below. But before anything else, I’d like to confirm that I am very much alive and kicking.

And now for a bunch of answers to a question:

Why haven’t I been posting? Plenty of reasons actually, and here they are:

  1. I lost my access to the blog (DON’T LAUGH) and didn’t have time to recover it until recently.
  2. I’ve been busy with work – I have this¬†game dev company that works with different clients. Running it is no joke, and it eats up a lot of time.
  3. My team has been working on the first of our Hyper Games episodic series Рcurrently in limited soft launch, due for official release this year.
  4. We’ve been working on MashUP Tactics too, also due for release very soon (fingers crossed) Check out our page and like it!!!
  5. Most importantly, for all the GREAT PAPER TOY ENTHUSIASTS out there, ¬†I’ve also been working on this:

Coming very soon to an app store near you...

More details to come in later posts ūüėČ

For now, I just wanted to say a big HELLO to anyone who’s still out there.

That’s all for now.

Cheers!

Guess Who 3

Thursday, November 21st, 2013

So in the next few weeks, I’ll be releasing even more Crafty Collabs, but I’ll be including a few of non-collabs as well. ¬†Which characters in particular, some of you can probably guess as I try to catch up to some characters that I wanted to release a while back but wasn’t able to. ¬†That, along with a new series of characters that I haven’t posted about nor has been requested for at all.

One of those characters is this bad boy…

Who Am I?

Care to wager a guess?

Check back in a few weeks for the full reveal.

That’s it for now.

Crafty Collab: Nightwing Paper Toy

Monday, November 18th, 2013

We’ve got another Crafty Collab for y’all! ¬†It’s another one from Rayenyson – the same dude who gave us the Superman,Iron Spider, and Doc Oc paper toys, just to name a few. ¬†As before, to see more of his stuff, go over to his site¬†here.

Nightwing needs no introduction.  This guy is big fan favorite, myself included.  The costume for this paper toy is based on the Young Justice cartoon, which I think is the best-looking one so far.

Without further ado, here he is ūüėČ

Crafty Collab: Silver Crow Paper Toy

Wednesday, November 13th, 2013

We have another Crafty Collab this month.  This time around, the paper toy is based on a character from the Accel World anime series.  The feature character is Silver Crow, the main protagonist of the series.

Credits and compliments go out to Ephraim (FM to his friends) Rulloda from the Philippines. ¬†He used Flash, Photoshop, as well as (ancient tools like) pencil, paper and a scanner to design this collab. ¬†Really cool I think ūüėČ

FM sent me a couple more collabs to share with you guys.  Watch out for those soon.

Crafty Collab: Alex Mercer Paper Toy

Wednesday, November 6th, 2013

We start off this month with a uber Crafty Collab from the talented Mr. Emmo Hernández.  He is a student from México, who, much like many mexicans, really loves tacos!  Aside from arts and crafts and parkour, he enjoys any type of music related to Rock РClassic, Rock & Roll, and Alternative.

“My name is Alex Mercer. I’m the reason for all this. They call me a killer, a monster, a terrorist… I’m all of these things.”

Paper Toy Tutorials

Tuesday, September 11th, 2012

POP QUIZ!

Would you appreciate step-by-step tutorials on the following topics?

  1. How to design paper toy templates
  2. How to customize existing paper toy templates using specific software applications
  3. What software to use when designing or customizing paper toys

Paper Toy Template Customization Tutorials

The reason I ask is because I have been meaning to make them for some time now, and more importantly, some of you have requested for them at some point. ¬†I just haven’t found the time to do them just yet, but if a lot of you would find those tuts useful, then I’d really consider doing them sooner than later.

One more thing, if I do release those tuts, which applications would you prefer featured in them?

  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Adobe Illustrator
  • Blender3D (Open-source)
  • Gimp¬†¬†(Open-source)
  • Inkscape¬†(Open-source)
  • Pepakura

For apps NOT in the list above, you’ll have to look elsewhere as I am not familiar with any of those.

Let me know.  Just sound off in the comments section.

Cheers!
