Crafty Collab: March of the Spider-Men Part 1: Black Spidey and Venom

Monday, August 6th, 2012

Hello everyone!

Today, we kick off a Crafty Collab series of 8-legged proportions.

We start it all with a devious doubleheader by none other than Alonso Baŭtista Viĵalobos, who is no stranger to crafty collaborations.  His first contribution to the Paper House of Adventures was The Phantom 2040 released some time ago.  Now, he’s back anew with a couple of webslingers.

What's that? Alien Symbiote!?! Where?

HELP ME! I swallowed a snake...

In case you’re looking for Spidey’s classic red and blue, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered – look no further than this link.

Go check out more of Alonso’s creations in his blog, Paperisto.  You can also get them from the downloads page – You can find these Spider-Men in the Marvel Universe section.  Subscribe to this blog to receive the password in the mail and gain access to the downloads section.  Registration is free, just enter your email address in the subscribe field at the right-hand side of the page header.

That’s all for now.

Cheers!

Spider-Man Paper Toy

Friday, February 18th, 2011

Pfffsst…

Pffft…

Thwip…

I give up.

How does Spider-Man’s web slingers sound when they shoot out webs anyway?  Help me out here, my inquiring mind wants to know.

Through this project,  I found out that I “dislike” ( because “hate” is such a strong word ) drawing webs, specifically the ones in Spidey’s costume.  I mean, you’re going to need loads and loads of patience.  To all comic artists who have had the privilege to draw Spidey, I respectfully salute you.

Half the time, I was tempted to just release the Spider-Man template without the web details.  Or just release the black costume. Or even better, just release a venom template… Hmmm, something to consider eh?

Anyway, that’s done, I survived.  The Spider-Man paper toy template is now available for your web slinging pleasure.  As mentioned in an earlier posts.  I added some simple goodies for you to play with.

Find the hidden "Mickey"

Web stuff in action

Admittedly, the props are nothing spectacular ( pun intended ), but hey, bonus stuff is always good.  Also mentioned in a different post is the inclusion of an additional slot to slide the arms of the toy into – in case you’re in the mood to play around with different poses.

Pffft!...

You can download the template here. Subscribe to this blog to receive the password in the mail and gain access to the downloads section.  Registration is free, just enter your email address in the subscribe field at the right-hand side of the page header.

That’s about it for now.  Check back soon to find out which character is coming next.  I’ll give you a hint – it’s going to be inCREEDable!  Any guesses from the audience?

Excelsior!

WIP: Spiderman!

Wednesday, February 2nd, 2011

I think I mentioned in an earlier post that the next toy release was going to be Shank.  I was wrong.  It seems I’m going to finish the webslinger’s template sooner.  Not to  worry, Shank’s will be ready soon enough.

I’m actually excited to get this ( Spidey ) paper toy out.  I’ve been itching to get started on an Ultimates / Avengers series of toys.  The webslinger, correct me if I’m wrong, has been in and out of the team roster at one time or another – just like Wolverine I gather.  For all the X-Men fans out there, don’t worry, I’ve got you covered.  I’m working on something for you guys too.

I’m adding a new feature to the contender template.  First it was the different arm poses, now it’s an additional slot, angled differently.  It gives you new slots to slide the arms into – should provide creative pose alternatives.  It’s hard to explain so just check out the  “diagrams”  below.  Visual aids are always cool, don’t you agree?

See that? 2 arm positions, 1 type of arm.

I’m also including a couple of “props” just to make this toy a bit more interesting.  So, what do you think I mean when I say “props”?

Ahem in an old British voice:  What’s that?… Props you say? Why that’s “props” – posterous! LOLROF

Yeah, I know, that was just bad.

Illusion or not? Is Spidey's eyes whiter than the color of his mask?

Check back in a few days for everyone’s friendly neighborhood paper toy.

Cheers!
